Eritrean Catholic Community in Leeds

Eritrean Catholic Community in Leeds On Saturday 27 February the Church of the Holy Rosary, Chapeltown Road, Leeds was the venue for a Mass to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the community.

Eritrean Catholics gather on the first and third Sundays of each month to celebrate Mass in the Ge’ez Oriental Catholic Rite, led by their chaplain Fr Ghebreysus Ghebrezghi, known to many as ‘Fr G’ –  especially in the parish of St John Henry Newman, Leeds where he is also Assistant Priest. Fr G also ministers to Eritrean communities in Sheffield and across the Pennines in Salford.
