Lord’s Supper Celebrant by The Right Reverend Marcus Stock, Bishop of Leeds, at the Cathedral Church of St Anne.

Maundy Thursday holds deep significance as it marks the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, the moment when He instituted the sacrament of Holy Communion just before His arrest and crucifixion. This occasion also serves as a reminder of His establishment of the priesthood. Jesus shared this meal as a Passover feast, embodying the ultimate sacrifice that would redeem humanity.

During the Mass, Bishop Marcus followed Jesus’ example by washing and drying the feet of twelve members of the congregation, echoing the act of humility and service that Jesus performed for His twelve disciples the night before His crucifixion.
