The Polypipe Pontefract Grand Prix

Patrick Sice Photography

The second Pontefract Grand Prix, staged in partnership with DM Keith Skoda, Amey and Wakefield Council, got off to a great start with around 50 riders taking to the circuit in the family ride supported by HMT Hospitals, with perfect weather conditions, a real blessing for the events after last year’s torrential weather.

Youth A, B and C events were hotly contested as some of the country’s future stars raced around the full circuit in an impressively aggressive style that clearly entertained the crowd that built throughout the day.
