Ordination to the Diaconate of Joshua Hilton

Ordination to the Diaconate of Joshua Hilton, St Anne Cathedral, Leeds

Ordination Joshua John Hilton Bishop Marcus Stock Bishop of Leeds

Joshua John Hilton Bishop Marcus Stock Bishop of Leeds

Saturday 25th March 2017 was a very special day for Joshua John Hilton. It was the day he was received by Bishop Marcus into what the Bishop quite deliberately described in his Homily as the ‘permanent’ Diaconate: for although this is a transition toward his Ordination to the Priesthood, a priest remains a deacon throughout his ministry.  For the last eight years Joshua has been studying at Allen Hall Seminary, London, and in a few months time, he will enter the Priesthood.

A word of thanks from Deacon Joshua

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you for coming to my diaconate ordination today, to encourage me with both your presence and your prayers. I am truly grateful. I would like to thank my parents for bringing me to this day by their loving care and for having handed on the faith to me by their words and example. May God be good to them.

My thanks too must go the Bishop of Leeds, The Rt Rev. Marcus Stock, the Staff and Seminarians of Allen Hall Seminary and to the various priests and parishes who have hosted me on pastoral placement over the last eight years.

I cannot thank everyone here whom I would wish to, so to my family, friends, priests and parishioners who have supported me throughout my time information, I thank you and ask that you keep me in your prayers as you remain in mine. May God bless you all.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our blog post please link and share with your friends.
